Dragon Player was working fine, but I doesn't play anything for a week and have updated my system when asked by KPackageKit. Now Dragon Player does not play anything : avi, dvd, mkv... It just crash.

Did you update xine or Phonon? If yes, try downgrading that, there seems a bug in the xine handling (see thread 7).

Now I have tested updating xine to see if the bug continue. Before it was a old version and so the bug occur on the old first, but updating haven't done anything. I just have tested downgrading too : same bug.

I can't read any video except flash on firefox...
Kaffeine affected too.

I'm getting this error as well when trying to play dvd's, I've KDE version 4.4, Kubuntu 9.10.
When I try to play in VLC it crashes with no Crash Handler report

When I try to play the dvd in VLC (run from terminal) I get the following error:

libdvdnav: DVD disk reports itself with Region mask 0x00e50000. Regions: 2 4 5
*** Zero check failed in ifo_read.c:1786
    for pgcit->zero_1 = 0x8d00

So I think my problem is not having the right lib to play commercial dvd's

The problem is caused due to crashing of Xine which is not in active development. Please mark this BUG as CLOSED.
Also, please do not post vlc bug here. Instead report at the concerned bug/tracker.
