Description Andreas Kuhl 2010-01-02 09:47:40 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

I attached my eGroupWare addressbook via Akonadi's GroupDAV connector. This works fine (i.e. kaddressbook shows my contacts). KMail refuses to autocomplete an email address once I type it, it does not seem to look in the remote addressbook. But If I click "select..." which brings up the contact list (all remote contacts are shown here) and close the dialog without picking a contact, autocompletion works fine afterwards.

Looks like a (not-) caching issue or something like that.

KDE SC 4.3.85

Still happens with KDE SC 4.3.90

Does address completion work with a local resource?

Also what addressbooks are configured in 'KDE Resources' in systemsettings?

KMail still uses the old KResource API in 4.4 so the akonadi resources you have are only accessible if you have an Akonadi bridge KResource set up. Alternatively you can still use any native kresources directly.

The completion now works if I wait about 30 seconds after opening KMail before composing a new mails. Seems like KMail is busy loading the addressbook in the background. So I see this "bug" as fixed since it is dued to the connection speed and not a real bug.
