I think you should report this upstream to Qt as it doesn't seem to be related to Amarok at all. Several developers were not able to reproduce this with Qt 4.5.x which indicates a Qt 4.6 problem.

@Myriam : Well perhaps it's a Qt bug but a bit more help from Amarok people will be nice...Testcase Amarok is like testcase KDE/the entire planet....Lot of librairies, lot of dependencies, lot of code and to be honest we don't have 5 hours to spend on figuring out what's going on inside because we don't know anything about amarok architecture/code. I will have a quick look though but isolating the problem in a small test case (or at least to try) is helpful and you'll be sure that it will be fix faster. I always do this job in Plasma and Amarok and it's boring...
