Description Greg Lepore 2009-12-31 20:08:15 UTC
Application that crashed: plasma-desktop
Version of the application: 0.3
KDE Version: 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-16-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

What I was doing when the application crashed:
system had slowed down after several hours of creating ISO images from video DVDs. Upon reboot, plasma was frozen with a "unable to mount" dialog box.

Comment 1 Greg Lepore 2009-12-31 20:13:19 UTC
The message was "Cannot mount the disc", which I got again upon inserting a DVD. However, plasma did not freeze this time.
Comment 2 Landon M. Kelsey, III 2011-07-02 04:40:05 UTC
about 80% of the time, kde plasma crashes before ANYTHING can get started.

sometimes firefox 5.0 comes up and stays up

there must be more than 2 users having this problem

Fedora 15

OOOPS! Nearly forgot

kernel: 2.6.38.8-32.fc15.i686
Comment 4 Landon M. Kelsey, III 2011-07-13 00:47:39 UTC
just did yum update and got new kernel:
2.6.38.8-35.fc15.i686

then got 2 crashes in a row
KSM server PID 1836 Signal Segmentation Fault 11

Exeecutable PID 3446 Signal Segmentation Fault 11

I remember fixing something like this (or somebody else did). Anyway this is not valid for Linux anymore since we use udev/upwer...

Is this still valid for freebsd?
