Version: (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources I'm using Konsole 2.4 on KDE 4.4 Beta 2. Boot Debian, or a Linux system based on Debian (such as Ubuntu). Open a new Konsole instance. Make it 40 lines deep. Run sudo aptitude When aptitude runs up, press `q' and `y'. This terminates aptitude. Now hold down the Enter key. You'll see that Konsole ignores about the bottom 40% of the available space: when the cursor gets 60% of the way down the screen, the visible text scrolls away and the cursor goes no further. Now try a different experiment. Open a new instance of Konsole, and make it 40 lines deep. Hold down the Enter key until you get to about line 32. Run aptitude and then quit it, in the same way as before. Now press Enter until you get to the bottom of the screen. From now on, Konsole will keep reusing and overwriting the bottom line of text: it won't scroll existing text up the window. In both cases, `Edit: Clear and reset' brings Konsole back into a usable state. This problem does not occur with xterm. It does not occur with Konsole 2.3.3 on KDE 4.3.4, using an identical version of aptitude. It seems to be a regression in Konsole 2.4 or KDE 4.4.
Please try a recent version - I use aptitude a lot and haven't had any issues with 4.5/4.6.
