What I was doing when the application crashed:
In the german K-Menu I click "Einstellungen" (english perhaps "settings"), then "Systemeinstellungen" (system settings), then "Arbeitsflaeche" (work space) and then "Bildschirmschoner" (screen saver). Then the system settings window crashes and disappears.
