Description Oliver Maurhart 2009-12-18 11:25:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
Compiler: gcc-4.4.2
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Since KDE 4.3.3 I'm struggling with my Keyboard on a Dell Latitude D810. Quite frequently the keyboard meta keys get "stuck". This refers to Alt, Shift, Ctrl, CapsLock, NumLock, ...

In 1 out of 2 attempts the meta key is not released, e.g. keeping Shift "pressed". This has some very annoying consequences while working. Pressing F4 in an App may render to Alt-F4, which doesn't invoke a function but closes the whole application ... :(

First I though of an hardware failure, but then I was surprised that Gnome on the very same machine does *not* suffer from this behavior. So I think it is more KDE related.

It's really disturbing, but I don't know where to look at to get a clue what's going on.

Can someone please give me a nudge to point me to some diagnostic apps or some hint?

I can't reproduce this problem

Is it still an issue in recent versions (KDE SC 4.8.4 or higher) ?

Hm, nope. Bug is dead. Sorry for not kickin in and blast this ticket away.

Am I to close this ticket? Or is there any maintainer doing this?
