Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages It's a known problem of Kmail. When kmail access to an imap account, for example courier, the user _only_ can create folders under Inbox folder, not at the same level of the Inbox folder. Thunderbird solves it configuring a IMAP server directory, with INBOX (all uppercase). I don't know if it could be an easy thing to implement something similar. Regards, Leo
I can create subfolders on the inbox level for my dIMAP accounts in KDE 4.4.0. Isn't this an IMAP-server limitation only some have?
In kmail2 it is still not possible to create new root folders, at least not in the three IMAP accounts I use. It would be a nice feature to have, so one does not always have to use another client for this task.

This bug seems to have re-emerged in KMail 4.14.7.
