Description anton 2009-12-15 07:53:02 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

KDE 4.3.80 (KDE 4.4 Beta1) from opensuse factory

Did hibernate, then powered on the machine and received locked screen without unlock dialog. Clicking anywhere on the screen did not bring it up, plasma handle (I have set "show plasma dashboard" screensaver option) with item to unlock screen.

Solved by swithcing to console and killall kscreenlocker.

This was fine in 4.3.1 before upgrade.

I have just did hibernate/restore again - the dialog were blinking for some time in the middle of the screen and then disappeared, so had to killall kscreenlocker again

I see why this happens. The dialog disappears when click somewhere outside it and there is also no way to bring it back with the mouse - I have accidentally found the way to bring it back by pressing Esc key, but this is not so evident.

There should be a menu (default in upper-right corner) with an option to "unlock"; this is what you're looking for :)
Comment 4 anton 2010-01-02 11:39:12 UTC
I know - it was present in 4.3.x, but after upgrading to 4.4 betas (from opensuse factory for 11.0) the menu has disappeared

This means it likely was patched out by downstream. Please discuss this with the relevant resources available for OpenSuSE. Thanks.

Comment 7 Chani 2010-02-15 01:13:12 UTC
it wasn't patched out; it was a bug in the betas. please get 4.4 and then remove .kde4/share/config/plasma-overlay-appletsrc (or if you don't want to lose your config, edit it so that the containment's plugin= line says plugin=saverdesktop )
