Version: 1.0.0 rc1 (using KDE 4.3.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages I like to have the respective file names labeled on the 2 images on the light table. I know I can get the name from the properties panel, but the panel takes to much width and I find it anoying to expand and hide again the properties panel just to know which file name I have.
using thumbbar item tool tips doesn't help ? Gilles Caulier
Gilles, the tool tips were turned of in my debian default installation, so any debian user who doesn't know that there are tool tips won't see them. But yes, they do help as much as the "hide-able" properties panel help, I can get the information. My motivation for this feature request is that I'd like to see the file name information immediately, without taking any actions. It's not a big issue, but it would be convenient.

We are not doing anything special with the Debian build: https://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=digikam;ver=2:1.0.0~rc-1;arch=amd64;stamp=1259751580 Is there a specific build time option we should enable? Mark
By default, tooltips are disabled in digikam setup... If user start in first run, a wizard wil ask about to enable it... Gilles
