Description bakul 2009-12-10 12:11:06 UTC
Version: 1.12.2 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Mandriva Linux release 2010.0 (Cooker) for i586)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.5-desktop586-1mnb

Hi

I can receive messages without problems but I can't send.

I have the same problem as here https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=55928
I've read it all but I cannot solve it anyway, I'm not sure that the solution is the same...I've tried to change messages and recipient addresses, but I've not tried thunderbird jet (as did patrick.hayere).
It might be obvious but I tell you anyway: I can send messages without problems using the website of my ISP.

The message shown in Kmail is:

Spedizione non riuscita:
smtp.tiscali.it: Socket operation timed out

I've tried to re-set the sending address, that should be smtp.tiscali.it (I've found that address in my ISP website), but it just can't send messages and pops up the "smtp.tiscali.it: Socket operation timed out" message everytime.

Let me know what I can do to solve it.
Thanks a lot

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
