Version: 1.0.0-beta5 (using KDE 4.3.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages When I open the "Rename" dialog box to rename a file, I expect that I will be presented with the original file name, so that I can edit it. I'm not, so I can't. If I want to change a character in a long file name, I have to type in the whole name again, it seems. The "[file]" token is all well and good, but it is pretty useless if all I want to do is take an existing file name like "20091207-50d-1234-00.jpg" and change the "00" at the end to "01" without typing everything in again.
Try digiKam 1.0.0 RC. Beta 5 is pretty old now and a lots of work have be done since this version. Gilles Caulier
Yes, this is definitely possible... but I thought I added this in beta5 already. Well anyway I'll close this one again, since it is fixed.
I tried 1.0.0-rc1. The file name is now presented for editing, but not the file extension.
Yes, like I said in the other report, it was added after rc1. The final version will have it... :-)
This is working fine for me in 1.2.0. Thank you.
