What I was doing when the application crashed:
Using the Device Notifier plasma applet, I attempted to import approx 20GB of images using the "Download Photos with DigiKam" option. 

This crash report is the result. I do not know if it happened during the folder scan process (wasn't immediate if it was) or during the copy process, as I was not watching (was taking a long time to complete).

The images were stored on an external harddrive.
