Version:           0.9 SVN (using 4.3.80 (KDE 4.3.80 (KDE 4.4 Beta1)), compiled sources)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.26-2-amd64

When the zoom level is out enough to show clouds, the inferior region of the globe appears in gray scale colors.

I can not reproduce this in KDE SC 4.3.90, is this still an issue for you?
