I can't reproduce the issue with 4.4 beta 1. When pasting an image, KMail asks for the attachment name.

Please install the kmail-debuginfo and kontact-debuginfo package and try to reproduce the crash to get a better backtrace.

Same problem when paste image in new KDE 4.4 beta 2
Comment 5 Alex Sidorenko 2010-02-12 16:13:12 UTC
I can confirm the same problem with KDE 4.4.0 (final release) on Ubuntu/Karmic

In Comment #1 I see: "When pasting an image, KMail asks for the attachment name". This probably means that HTML-formatting was not enabled (without it there are no inline images, just attachments)

To duplicate:

1. In kmail, start a new message.
2. Set Options->Formatting (HTML)
3. Copy any image in a web-browser (Konqueror or Firefox).
4. In Kmail, use Paste->Add As Inline Image

The same worked fine using KDE-4.3.5

Regards,
Alex

kontact (4.6 pre) on KDE Platform 4.5.60 (KDE 4.5.60 (KDE 4.6 >= 20100627)) "release 3" using Qt 4.6.3

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
1.- Snapshot with ksnapshot
2.- Copy to Clipboard
3.- New mail
4.- Paste inline & crash again
