Description matt 2009-12-03 15:43:52 UTC
Version: 1.12.3 (using 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3), 4.3.3-4.fc11 Fedora)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.30.9-96.fc11.i686.PAE

This applies only to the most recent versions (say last one or two) of kmail.

Almost any activity (e.g., compacting the inbox, moving from one mailbox to another, changing the sort criterion from sender to date, etc.) will move the "focus" from the letter currently being read, to some letter that kmail remembers for an unknown reason. I have not been able to figure out what the criterion is that kmail is using to remember this letter. I would like kmail to revert to the previous behavior in which the letter under current view was kept constant during the activities listed in the parenthetical remark above.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.

I gave up on kmail a while ago as too bloated. I use mutt.
