Version: (using KDE 4.3.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages I really do not like either of these choices: 1) Enter KWallet password upon going to status 'Online' in Kopete (default) 2) Enter every password for every account (after hitting cancel to KWallet requests) I am sure I am not the only person in the world who is the only person who uses his computer. I would like if Kopete offered a way to store the passwords (yes, insecurely) in the kopeterc file or elsewhere. Regardless, no password entering at all. Make a big warning about how unsafe it is and etc. But it is well-known this is a big security flaw in Pidgin. Regardless, a lot of people still use it. A more safe way is to use public/private key encryption. That way a file is required in order to read the passwords. This path should be customisable. This way a Kopete password file is useless without a key.
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
