Version: (using KDE 4.3.3) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Currently the Jabber plugin of Kopete offers the possibility to join a Jabber Groupchat. This means right clicking on the Jabber account icon, filling a nickname, a server name, a channel name, and in case a password. After accessing the groupchat, a new virtual contact representing the groupchat will be added to the list of contacts and a new "groupchat bookmark" will be added with a radio button next to it. Actually this bookmark would be very useful provided that it survives the Kopete session. Unfortunately as soon as Kopete is quit these bookmarks disappear. It would be great if they could stay so that they can really be used as bookmarks in order to save time accessing groupchats.
This feature is implemented like defined in XEP-0048 (http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0048.html) and is using the private storage (defined in http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0049.html) to store the entries. XEP-0049 is not anymore recommended for storing, but the feature should still work just fine. Tested to work with a recent Kopete from trunk + ejabberd 2.1.2. Perhaps the server you are using doesn't support either of those XEPs? Note, that Kopete does not store these bookmarks itself, but retrieves them from the server on connect.
That would explain it: I use GMail. So, what's best? To delete the bug, or to modify it into a wish? (alternative local storing of bookmarks)
I confirm that indeed I'm using a GMail account but using conferences room on conference.jabber.org
This is problem of google jabber server, closing as invalid.
