Version: 0.80.2 (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs I have two laptops both with opensuse 11.2 x86-64 kde4.3 and both with webcams. I can see the webcams working under kopete\Configure\Video for each laptop. On each laptop, I have kopete set up using a different yahoo account. I can send text to the other machine and vice versa no problem but when I try to invite the user to see my webcam, there is no response or notification of any sort on the other machine. When I try to view the other user's webcam, I get the following message "No webcam image received". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. set up kopete with yahoo account on two machines that have a webcam 2. click on settings/video to confirm that your webcam is working and supported by kopete 3. on machine 1, send instant message to user on machine 2 to make sure you can communicate with the other user 4. then right click on the user in kopete and select "Invite to view webcam" 5. the first time you do this, you might get a warning saying that you need to have Jasper installed; go to yast and install this 6. other person's machine has no response from you when you invite them to view your webcam 7. then try to view the other person's webcam and you get "No webcam image received" message Expected Results: would be able to have other user see my webcam and be able to see theirs
The very same problem in my case, I can confirm it. Exactly the same thing. The same goes even if the other side is using Yahoo messenger under Windows OS.
This has been fixed for KDE 4.4
