Philippe, Do you use the Wikipedia and the Photos plugins from Marble ? Gilles Caulier
I am not aware of these plugins. Where to find them in Digikam ?
Hi Philippe, This one is not accessible in previous release even if it's present as Marble plugin. Marble is the software component to show map in digiKam. With the 8.3.0 and the port to Qt6, i backported the necessary Marble code in digiKam core, as Marble team do not plan to seriously port the code to Qt6. So i do it myself, and i cleaned the code for the strict usage in digiKam. In Marble stand alone application (qt5 version) there is an option to show Wikipedia information as an overlay on the map: https://i.imgur.com/u9GN8ow.png In digiKam 8.3.0 i don't yet backported the wikipedia plugin, but i can do it if there is a real needs. This is the list of currently geolocation plugins: https://i.imgur.com/HB7GSgl.png Best Gilles Caulier
What to say ? See the description of this report. 14 years ago I needed this plugin. Today much less. We can't measure the need of this plugin with my sole case.
Such a plugin if only digikam gets it then perhaps this makes digikam shining.
Note : this plugin will only work with Atlas, Satellite, and OpenStreeMaps view, not GoogleMaps. I will take a look to backport this plugin. Please take a look to my marble screenshot: there are other online plugins as the 'OSM Notes' : it show users notes from OpenStreeMaps web-service. Gilles Caulier
