Version: (using KDE 4.3.3) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Please add an option to expand the collapsed System Tray on mouseover. Thanks.
I don't think this is a good idea: IMHO it could trigger too many unwanted expand/collapse animations.
> I don't think this is a good idea: IMHO it could trigger too > many unwanted expand/collapse animations. Being off in the corner, this would be no more an issue than it is with Lancelot, which has this option. Or maybe just hovering over the (>) icon could expand it? It that were the case then I would prefer that the icon be a bit larger.
And when should the tray be collapsed? should it be collapsed after a small delay when the mouse is moved out? And an activation delay could be added too. It still doesn't convince me (like hover activation in lancelot), but I'm not a dev, so I can only tell my opinion :-) :-)
> should it be collapsed after a small > delay when the mouse is moved out? The tray should be collapsed when the mouse moves out of the tray, not off the (>) icon that expanded the tray. A short (250 ms) activation delay would be reasonable.

Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
