What I was doing when the application crashed:
events leading up to the crash were:  I was trying to get video working in another messaging program, Emesene, and had just installed the plugin FlashWebcam.py there.  The plugin works with the site fonomo.com to do a flash browser-based video chat.  I tried it with someone and gave flash permission to use my camera and everything worked.  I tried it with someone else at the same time and got a frozen image for my video.  Then I tried it several times again and just got frozen noise for the image.  I decided to then check Kopete's Setting to see if my camera was working there and Kopete crashed the moment I hit the Video button in Configure...
