Description Marc Haber 2009-11-25 17:08:43 UTC
Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

my IMAP server was confused so that it allowed kmail to log in, but gave a meaningful error message as response to kmail trying to select the INBOX.

Kmail didn't show me the error message but instead said that the IMAP server closed the connection unexpectedly. I had to use a different software (mbsync from the isync package, thanks) to obtain the error message.

It would have saved two hours if kmail would have shown the error message it was given by the server.

Greetings
Marc

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
