What I was doing when the application crashed:
Doing nothing in particular, I heard the "ping" of an incoming kopete IM message, and plasma instantly crashed. 

It all seemed to recover fine, and this is the first time this has happened in the ~month since karmic was released. Still, a crash is never a good thing, I suppose.
