After i show up online, "appear offline" setting doesnt work. the icon show i am set to appear offline but people online can see me as "available" these two bugs have been around since forever
I confirm this bug with jabber. I've tried it with GMail/GTalk.
I would like to add some notes about the Jabber (and thus) Google Talk related part of this bug. I dont know anything about the Yahoo stealth mode or protocol at all. Google Talk uses the newer version of implementation of XMPP, it is defined in XEP-0126 at: http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0126.html As per this XEP, the XML body that must be sent to become invisible is: <presence type="unavailable"/> And this is what exactly Google expects. But most clients use JEP-0018 (now XEP-0018, see http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0018.html) standard for invisible mode hence it results in error. <presence type="invisible"/> The source of this information can be found only in the wayback machine: http://web.archive.org/web/20100818183251/http://www.itech7.com/Internet/Kopete-Google-Talk-Invisible If I've got it right the one word has to be changed to fix this. Is it possible that this kind of bug is hangin' here for three years? With a status of UNCONFIRMED? Unbelievable.
Hello from the KDE Bugsquad! Unfortunately, Yahoo has discontinued the Yahoo Messenger service, and the code has been removed from Kopete. Thus, I am closing this bug as "UNMAINTAINED" since it will no longer be fixable, or able to operate due to Yahoo.
