Description Robert Heyward 2009-11-21 07:47:39 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

When setting an "on-click" event for a Submit button in a form, the event is ignored / the on-click script not executed if the button is clicked rapidly. This means that client-side validation routines can be skipped, potentially causing form transaction problems.

This example demonstrates the problem with an on-click event with a submit button in a form - I did not test whether other HTML elements or events exhibit the same behaviour, although I suspect it is likely.

To reproduce the bug, copy and save the following HTML code and load it in Konqueror. The on-click event is set to return false, so no parameter should be passed as the form is deemed not-successful (you should not see "?q=Test" appended to the location in the location bar). If you click the Submit button in quick succession, Konqueror will ignore the on-click event and send the form data, which is manifested in the location bar showing the GET form data ("?q=Test").

G'day. I haven't used Linux on a desktop for quite some time but I can dig up a system or make a VM and check this in the next few days, workload permitting.
