Description why does it take half an hour to submit a crash report (why does it require a kde.org account) 2009-11-20 11:15:18 UTC
Application that crashed: konqueror
Version of the application: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
KDE Version: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-9-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

What I was doing when the application crashed:
(One wizard screen for the title of the crash report, telling the user to "describe the crash", and another wizard screen telling the user that was not quite enough, we'll only use that as a subject/title, please enter some more information? You are clearly retarded. Or, to put that in a more friendly and constructive way, here's a suggestion: "please have a regular user actually TEST your KDE crash reporting system before releasing it into the wild." It is overly complicated, and most people will, unfortunately, happily ignore it for that.)

(I almost killed it at least 3 times; first when it required a bugs.kde.org account instead of just accepting an email address, next when this second details box crap showed up, and 3rd time when it started spending time searching for duplicates before even having submitted the crash - GAH!)

* This is bug 200717.
* We need a *valid* email account because, 99% of the times, we need to contact back the reporter to ask for more information. (I wonder if you are going to get this reply...)
* You are the first user complaining about the crash reporting tool since 5 months and 5000 thousand reports created by the tool (by "normal" users). In fact, most of the people prefer the new crash reporting tool to use bugzilla directly.
* The tool was already improved a lot in KDE4.4 to not waste users nor developers time that much.
* Some times the bugzilla server gets busy and the crash reporting tool will take some time to access the bugs database.
* You are encouraged to propose your suggestions are improvements filing a bug in the "drkonqi" product here in bugs.kde.org. If you had some specific problems with the application workflow, please detail us about that.

Regards
