Version: (using KDE 4.3.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

# Backtraces

Don't know how to give more useful info. Please let me know so I can try help solve this.

# How to Reproduce
1) Connect to a jabber server (we have two here, one openfire and one jabberd)
2) Every now and then jabber protocol disconnects and reconnects while popping up an annoying error message - username@jabber.co.za disconnected .

# Expected Behaviour
2) Stays connected permanently.

I would suggest priority/severity of this bug be increased since jabber should be a well supported protocol and kopete keeps disconnecting from it which is really poor since its the only KDE IM program.

I can confirm that Jabber connections keep disconnecting here on kopete-1.0.80 on Mandriva Cooker. Very annoying. Please fix it.

This can be related to http://bugs.kde.org/198789

Kopete-svn (or from kde 4.6.1): Jabber disconnects every few minutes with message "Malformed packet received". After reconnection, memory usage rises for 2MB.
Also, interface freezes for 1-3 seconds
Psi works fine.

I think this bug is resolved now. I'm no longer having this issue in the last few releases. Currently running 4.8.0 and all seems fine. Closing as resolved.
