Description m.wege 2009-11-19 20:02:52 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.3.3)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I just tried tab handling in Kmail, just to see, if if makes sense for me, even though it does not handle mail and composer windows too. Hereby I noticed something else missing, which could be easier to implement. It seems like there are no keyboard shortcuts, mouse-keyboard-short-cuts and no tab handling in the context menu.
There is missing
CTRL-T -> for opening a new tab
CRTL-left-mouse-click -> for opening selected (folder) in a new tab
mouse-middle-click -> for opening selected (folder) in a new tab
and no context-menu -> for opening selected (folder) in a new tab
There could be also -> duplicate tab in the context-menu of a tab
and a "unclose tab" in the context menu of a tab. (with keyboard-shortcut CTRL-R)
In preparation for an increased tab use there should be also
- detach tab (with short-cut CTRL-D) in the context-menu of a tab
- a tab list in the context-menu of a tab
There might be more "standard actions", but these are the ones, I came up with and use with browsing.

Would be nice to see this implemented.

I added shortcut to 4.8.
We can't detach tab.
But we can close it now
