Version: (using KDE 4.3.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Fedora RPMs What I have seen with konqueror (just as file mgr) while copying files is a bit hard to describe and duplicate. Once I had a window split between my local ~ and a remote mounted smb share (over internet). I dragged a directory from the smb share in one pane to ~ and it did not give me the usual "copy, move, link?" dialog, instead it just went ahead and started copying. Unfortunately, it did a "move" instead so I had to copy the directory back (this time I did an explicit copy then paste, not drag/drop). While this type of copy is going on, unlike previous kfm in 3.x, the notification box appears and sometimes gives information (like the file being copied) but sometimes does not. You are never sure whether anything is happening with large copies or copies over slow links, such as the smb copy above. Then a few days ago, I attempted to copy a large directory to a usb flash stick. The stick was too full to contain the directory. At this point, konqueror stalled and would not respond with notifications present. I was unable to get other windows to responds. Killed X with crtl-alt-bs but when I logged back in konqueror was still stalled. Had to reboot at that point. For fairly small and local copy or drag/drops, konqueror works fine. But for externally mounted media there are problems. Even when it works, with the notifications updating, other windows become unresponsive. (Sorry, for my usage, dolphin is unacceptable so I don't know how it compares.)
