Description David Rankin 2009-11-17 22:25:56 UTC
Version: 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3) (using 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3), Arch Linux)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-ARCH

Guys,

This looks like a simple oversight. In kwrite when you have configured the "Insert File" plugin (Settings -> Configure ediitor -> Extensions -> check the Insert File plugin), there is no way to assign a keyboard shortcut to the feature. This is unexpected and takes away a large part of the editing efficiency provided by being able to do something like "alt+shift+i" and select a file.

There are no setting for the insert file plugin, so kwrite must provide this functionality. There should be a hook provided if this plugin is enabled that allows the user to assign a shortcut using the normal "Settings -> Configure Shortcuts"

Thanks

This is a generic issue with KXMLGUIClient, we have a ugly workaround in Kate application (kate.git, kate/interfaces/kate/plugin.*) where we fixup a componentdata + patch the xml path.
Is there any generic solution possible?
