Version: (using KDE 4.3.3) Compiler: GCC 4.4 OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs I lost all my contacts that were imported from KDE 3.5.x to KDE 4.1 after updating to KDE 4.2 some months ago. I tried to import the contacts again but got this message: "Address book file /home/bobby/.kde/share/apps/kab/addressbook.kab not found! Make sure the old address book is located there and you have read permission for this file." The address book is actually here:/home/bobby/.kde/share/apps/kaddressbook but the path is set to import from the aforementioned path. How can this be changed and why isn't the right path set? I got this message after I was asked if the existing adresses should be overwritten. Funny enough the adress book is empty! At least to my eyes. If I try to add an address to the adress book then I get this error message: "The resource '/home/bobby/.kde4/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf' is locked by application ''. This has been going on like that for months now and hadn't been changed with all the updates that I have made. If I can't import the old adresses then at least I would like to be able to save new ones.

I can't import or save any e-mail address/contacts, can't save any tasks, appointments - nothing. if I try to save these then I get an error message that no resource can be found. Whatever that means.
This bug can actually be closed. It seems like something went wrong while updating openSuse (not sure which version since I have been using updated version since 10.something) a way back and that was what could have caused the problem. What I did was backed up my mail folder and deleted /.kde4. After which I got the new mail folder overwritten by the old and it worked. All my contacts are there and I haven't lost a single e-mail in the process. The only thing that I had to do after was to recreat my e-mail accounts in KMail. Everything is now working fine :)
