KDE Version: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

What I was doing when the application crashed:
On my first login following upgrade to Kubuntu 9.10, Plasma crashed.  I have not yet been able to restart it.  On the positive side, this is the first time I was able to produce a complete backtrace.

The network manager plasma widget was removed from Kubuntu 9.10 as it was unstable. You probably have it from a previous install. Try updating/removing the "plasma-widget-network-manager" package. 

Also, try using the standalone application "knetworkmanager4".
