Version: (using KDE 4.3.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Steps to reproduce: - Go to Settings -> Configure Dolphin -> General - Make sure "Rename inline" is ticked - Open any folderview and create a new folder (F10) Dolphin will show the obtrusive "rename" popup when the folder is created. It should instead respect the Rename inline option and just create the folder with its new name highlighted.
Thanks for your input. Creating a new folder has nothing to do with renaming (there is no old file that must be renamed -> the popup is a different dialog). However I've classified this as feature request, as I agree that people who like to rename inline also want to specify the name for a new folder inline.
I like this idea too :-)

There is a newer report with an interesting discussion about the problems of this feature. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 314469 ***
