Description Simixis michel 2009-11-14 17:37:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

The existing image addition permits only 1 image to be added, then the window closes. It would be nice if we could chain image addition, an option in the settings or an additional "chained image addition" would be, that the window stays open and the next image is added right next to the previous one.

additionally, the possibility to change line from with in the "add image" window would be nice. So we can add really a lot of images painlessly.

Motivation:

Basically, the goal is that the user can easily and fast add images in html messages out of a pool of several 1000s. A simple list is extremely aquard at those numbers. Because of auto completion, the image addition window can handle large numbers of images. A lot of cleaver trics can be devised for this, properly done it would require a new module, but here i just want to ask some trivial changes in the way the existing possibility of adding images is handled by kmail.

The logic is, that the user can, make easily insert images carying certain meaning instead of using a word. Its not just for 1-2-3 big images in a message, i'm talking more like several 10s of litle images in a single message, that individually carry some special meaning, for the writer and the potential receaver. The images will be used as ideograms, replacing even complicated words. For example, in Chinese, moon, is just a stylized moon, the sun is a stylized sun, and the word brilliant its moon and sun together. With compounds, you can construct images carrying very abstract meanings. This is why its needed to have a lot of help from the program, because adding images by hand the normal way is very tedious for this kind of usage.

The theory is, that this can start as hybrid normal-writing/images and gradually develop in to a fully fledged international, written only, auxiliary language. I'm looking for programmers that are as crazy as me, for a program with specialized interface for this kind of thing. Things like, fuzzy search, data base for images, images in the spell checker, images treated like fonts, speech to "text", artificial neurones ....

more in detail, explanation of the motivations, warning english is absolutely terrible, i'll fix it some other time(its a wiki)
