Description Federico Brega 2009-11-13 02:36:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

When the kde starts akonadi is loaded and it asks for Kwallet password to access to my google account. If I'm connected to the network the operation succeeds but often Knetworkmanager is still connecting to the access point.
The user should be asked for the password of remote resources only when a network connection is available, or even better after checking of the remote server reachability.
Also the message dialog tells of an invalid password, or something like that, making a little harder to understand what is causing the problem.
I don't know if it is only related to google data or also some other remote resource requiring a login because I haven't any.

Same here...

I have found that this also happens when the network connection is already there. I have several remote calendars (.ics) subscribed and I always get "Permission denied" errors when I start KOrganizer though the passwords are correctly stored and I can later access the calendars just fine.

Other times, more seldomly, I get the (already filled out) password dialog for one of the resources and have to click ok. At least no error sound is played then

All in all it amounts to alot of clicking away error windows as the error windows resurface over the day.

BTW: openSuSE 11.2, KDE SC 4.5.2 rpms from SuSE Buildservice.

This bug has only been reported for versions older than KDEPIM 4.14 (at most akonadi-1.3). Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a recent version of akonadi (part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

I stopped using korganizer at some point (not the least b/c of this problem).

I just set it up again, so far I cannot see the problem any longer.

Achim, thanks a lot for putting korganizer into operation again just to report back on this bug!
