Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages In a fresh install of Kubuntu 9.10, I am customizing various kde keyboard shortcuts to my liking. In Konqueror, I set the shortcut: Konqueror > Focus Search Bar > Alternate to Ctrl-k I left the shortcut Ctrl-s alone; I only changed the alternate one. I changed it by clicking on the Alternate column, clicking the box saying "None", then typing Ctrl-k. I also set the shortcuts Konqueror > Activate tab [1-9] to Alt-[1-9] The settings persist until I log out. Once I log out and back in again, the "Activate Tab" settings remain, but the "Focus Search Bar" setting has reverted to it's default of "Shortcut: Ctrl-s; Alterate: None" I expect all the settings to persist across a relog; not just some of them. I set the shortcut to Ctrl-k to be consistent with the usual shortcut I use to jump to the search box in Firefox.

Works for me with konqueror 4.5.2 and trunk. Not sure if it was fixed between 4.3 and 4.5, or if this is yet another problem that comes from kubuntu's customizations. Can you check if you still have the bug with KDE 4.5? If you do, please check if <Action shortcut="Ctrl+S; Ctrl+K" name="focus_search_bar"/> gets written to ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/kpartplugins/searchbar.rc and reopen the bug.
I had the same problem with Konqueror losing my Ctrl-K binding for the search bar on 4.3.2 (Kubuntu 9.10 upgraded from 9.04). For me, it went away after I upgraded to 4.4.2 (and Kubuntu 10.02).
