Description Justin Newman 2009-11-11 19:54:02 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.3.2)
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.4.2 20091027 (Red Hat 4.4.2-7)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs

I'm not sure if it's appropriate, but I'm going to combine several bugs into this one because they all seem related (all resizing issues).

1) The Video Clip applet doesn't resize to accommodate widescreen videos. It leaves black borders at the top/bottom instead. Player should collapse to video size.

2) Video Clip applet sometimes resizes inappropriately when showing search results, cutting them off.

3) Video Clip applet always collapses to "Video Clip: No information found" while searching, then re-enlarges when the result is found. This sometimes results in issue number two. I propose that the Video Clip applet not resize until the search is finished and there are actually no results. If this is difficult for technical reasons, perhaps a delay of ~5 seconds or so before collapsing would be appropriate?

What Amarok version is that?
Comment 3 Justin Newman 2009-11-11 21:46:11 UTC
2.2-GIT - sorry. :x

It was built just a few days ago, but I'm rebuilding with today's as I type.

Can you confirm that on a recent version (git head) ?
Comment 5 Myriam Schweingruber 2010-05-22 12:27:23 UTC
Changing target.

I can confirm it with OpenSuse 11.3 and Amarok 2.3 GIT from KDE 4.6 >= 20100724.
I've tried removing all the plasmoids and adding them again, changing the horizontal size for them. Nothing happens, the video plasmoid keeps its small size.

May be it is related to the amarok-appletsrc file, where I've seen I have (among other things):
[Containments][1][Applets][3]
geometry=0,191,200,38
immutability=1
plugin=videoclip
zvalue=0

[Containments][1][Applets][8]
geometry=0,840,200,300
immutability=1
plugin=videoclip
zvalue=0

I've tried removing the amarok-appletsrc file, without success. Even removing all the amarok*rc config files, without sucess.
