Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages KDE 3 had a bitmap "Console" font that shipped with Konsole. I rather liked it, and still use it with all fixed-width applications (coding, IRC, etc), but it seems to have been officially abandoned with KDE 4. In the past few years, I have edited the font to include characters it was missing (such as emoticon characters, ellipses, etc). Should I make an unofficial fork on some other site, or are there plans to revive this font officially?

Have you looked at Terminus? It's also a fixed-width bitmap font, but I think more complete than Console.
The Misc Console Font is in misc-console-font-3.5.10-28.6.i586 openSUSE 11.2 (i586), 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1) "release 225" but doesn't work in Konsole anymore.

I could use it in KDE4 (although after a while I had to select Console, not Misc Console), but now (in trunk) Console disappeared and Misc Console is rendered incorrectly. See attachment (and the fact that the font is present).

Please don't hijack my bug. This is about the bundled "Console" font, not rendering.
Indeed. As mentioned in an earlier comment, there are no plans to ship a bitmap font with Konsole but you're welcome to develop and publish it separately.
