Version: (using Devel) Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.4.2 OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources See http://dl.trem-servers.com/plasma-holes.png Steps to reproduce. * Move your mouse in/out of the panel area (hover tasks/KStatusNotifier icons) until a plasma tooltip appears, which isn't lined up with the upper border of the panel, but lays itself somewhere within the panel. * Move your mouse out of the panel, then in again to get another tooltip close to the previous one. The panel will rip open, where the previous, misaligned tooltip was, showing the wallpaper and making that area unusable. I wasn't able to reproduce this with compositing turned on, since the tooltips float way higher above the panel.
This has been reported a couple of times, it seems to be an X.org issue: bug 177959. Thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 177959 ***
This is clearly a Xorg bug, I was able to write a xlib-only testcas (as I was asked for), but then nothing happend. If you want this bug fixed, please vote for it and make some polite noise at: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22566
