Description doc.evans 2009-11-05 22:59:19 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

In album view, selecting an image and choosing "rotate left" or "rotate right" actually causes the image to rotate by 180⁰.

This seems to be completely reproducible in the official kubuntu karmic package (KDE 4.3.2, digikam 1.0.0-beta5).

The karmic package manager says for the kipi-plugins package:

----

KIPI plugins (KDE Image Plugin Interface) is an effort to develop a
common plugin structure for Digikam, KPhotoAlbum (formerly known as
KimDaBa), Showimg and Gwenview.
Its aim is to share image plugins among graphic applications.

Current plugins ported to Qt4/KDE4:

Can you please run dpkg -l | grep kipi in a console and report the output.

Comment 7 Andrew Goodbody 2010-10-01 11:28:36 UTC
I just had an image appear to rotate by 180 degrees. However I think it is related to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224047 in that the exif data was for a rotation but the option to show rotation according to exif was not ticked. So it could be that the rotation plugin is taking account the exif rotation and rotates from that starting point thus giving the double rotation.

Doc,

This file still valid using kipi-plugins 2.4 ?

Comment 9 doc.evans 2011-12-30 17:22:12 UTC
I think it's fixed now. I just tried a few rotations by 90° and they all did the correct thing. I'm on the current version of Kubuntu (oneiric), and kipi-plugins is 2.1.1 (which seems old, but that's what it says).

I still see this bug in the 5.5.0 appimage. Sample attached.

After the first incorrect rotation, subsequent rotations work correctly, but the first rotation is 180 degrees instead of 90.
