If my memory serves me right, you are likely using gnash as your flash plugin, which requires a higher version of the plugin ABI than we support, and hence crashes trying to access a function from higher version.

An alternative is to use the proprietary Flash plugin (which unfortunately likes to crash for some people for largely undebuggable due to its closed-source nature reasons, and because it doesn't do that when one is trying to debug it anyway).

With the latest trunk build of gnash, I no longer getting nspluginviewer crashes, but the videos won't play either (probably gnash's fault), there's just an empty space and a message at the bottom left "Klash: Stop Playing".

SVN commit 1117262 by orlovich:

With new info provided by khtml, implement just enough of plugin -> part scripting stuff for
Flash to activate its interface. With this, the new Youtube skin works, as do simple examples.
It may be enough to fix some flash uploaders, too, but I can't find those bug reports, so I am
not sure.

Also, the scripting work means that the getCurrentPageURL function in Gnash no longer crashes,
though we don't export enough stuff for it to actually get a value back.

Same here. When I open konqueror and load a video on YouTube I'm getting this crash report. Howeverm I do have a sound problem in general. I cannot hear anything in applications such as VLC, but I do hear music in KDE apps, like amarok.
When I do this:
Amarok -> Configure -> Playback -> Configure Phonon -> audio output -> Music
I'm getting 4 alternatives:
HDA Intel (ALC272 Analog)
HDA Intel (ALC272 Digital)
HD-Audio Generic, ATI HDMI
Jack Audio Conn Kit

I only hear sound when testing the first one.

Same happens by opening gmx. I guess the adverts cause the crash. As told before, the netscapeviewer crashes just by opening youtube - no video can be watched.

Still true with konqueror/KDE 4.8.00 tested on Mageia 2 beta 1 64bit.
A core dump occurs when flash is required to read a video. A pop window said:
"Application: nspluginviewer (nspluginviewer), signal: Segmentation fault"
No other log found.
When the page is reloaded, the video works.

This seems to be related to flashplugin 11 64bit.
Also reported as https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4679

NB: Why is the status "UNCONFIRMED" which such a bunch of duplicate bug reports?
Comment 56 Myriam Schweingruber 2012-09-18 19:02:55 UTC
Confirmed by duplicates.

This bug is 8 years old.
I have not seen this problem since several years (or more!).
IMO, this bug report can be closed.
