I think this is a wine issue since I experienced something similar under GNOME.
Comment 2 BRULE Herman 2010-01-17 10:34:46 UTC
But it's not wine which do this menu, I'm sur that's possible show same shortcut list in menu editor and real menu.

Wine registers a menu-shortcut once you install an application, then you uninstall the application using wine, the shortcut is not removed which means the application is not uninstalled correctly. I believe that every application registers a menu-shortcut the same way, no matter if its a GNOME application, KDE or something else.
So this is clearly a problem of the uninstallation process under wine.

Is this bug still valid with kde 4.4.4 or kde 4.5beta ?
Comment 5 BRULE Herman 2010-06-07 19:14:30 UTC
Yes the bug is present in 4.4.4.

I still believe that it is a wine bug, please report it upstream.

For me, kde should have full control on that own menu, and can drop GTK/wine application too...

Yes KDE can change the menu, of course it can, the problem is, how does Kickoff know which entries it has to remove *on its own*, the menu icons have to be removed during the uninstallation process, kickoff has nothing to do with it, this is a wine bug.
Would you let me close this bug if I report it upstream for you?

what happened with this bug??
Comment 10 Martin Flöser 2011-12-08 20:45:27 UTC
let's put it to UPSTREAM. If wine installs the menu entry, it has to take care of removing it. We cannot track when wine apps are uninstalled (due to the fact that you can just remove the ~/.wine directory)
