Version: kdebase4-runtime-4.3.1-5.6.3 (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs When performing a search via the nepomuksearch:// protocol in dolphin, emails from evolution seem to be arbitrarily included (not all that should show up are displayed), and those that are shown in the search results are presented by their mbox file name. All emails should be in the index and they should be displayed with relevant details such as sender, receiver, date, attachments(?), context of search hit, etc. Arbitrary includes of mails might be due to incomplete strigi indexing of the maildir (~/.evolution/...), although strigi claims to be through with my hard drive. Also see attached screenshot of search results, the first entries being emails. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In Dolphin's new search field, enter a search term 2. Wait for the results to be fetched Actual Results: evolution's mbox files listed w/o any info in search results not all relevant emails listed Expected Results: email details: sender, receiver, date, attachments, search hit context all relevant emails in evolution Screenshot: https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=324732 (referer: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551084) packages: openSUSE 11.2 kdebase4-runtime-4.3.1-5.6.3.i568 dolphin-4.3.1-5.6.3.i586 strigi-0.7.0-2.1.i586 package libstrigi is not installed soprano-2.3.0-5.1.i586 libsoprano4-2.3.0-5.1.i586 soprano-backend-sesame-2.3.0-5.1.i586
Kinda fixed for 4.10 - We now show the title of the email. We cannot however show more information such as who sent the mail and the date, as there is simply no place to show that. Also, Dolphin is not the right tool to be used for searching emails. One should use something like kmail. There is no point duplicating its features in Dolphin.
