Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Hello, I recently installed the Kubuntu 9.10 operating system having the kde 4.3.2 User Interface. It has kdebluetooth4 preinstalled in it. I was trying to pair my Nokia 7210 phone to my desktop (using a bluetooth Zippy's dongle). The steps i followed was : 1. Right click on the KDEBLUETOOTH icon in the panel notification. 2. Chose Device Configure -> Clicked next -> It searched for the Nokia mobile and found mine. 3. When i chose my mobile from the list and clicked next, it displays a message 'Sorry Your device does not support input service'. hence i cannot pair my mobile with the desktop now. But, I can actually send files from my desktop to my phone and not the vice versa. So, the communication is only one way. Could anyone help in this regard? Thanks & Regards, Nanda
The device manager is only to manage bluetooth input devices (such a mouses or keyboards). So you should not have to pair your cell phone to just send/receive files. I don't have your cellphone, but everything is working well (using kubuntu 9.10) with N73. Anyway, can you try it again this time without execute device-manager? just going to: 1-Reboot your computer 2-Be sure that when KDE is being executed your bluetooth adapter is plugged 3-Right click->Settings->Bluetooth adapters and modify the default name (to identify it better in the cellphone) 4-Try to send a file. And if you can, try to sending a big file, something like 1Mb, I just fix a bug that happens when sending small files. Thanks for the report!
Created attachment 38139 [details] screenshots of the performed steps
Hi, I performed the following steps with my Nokia 7210 and also Nokia 6300: 1-Rebooted my computer 2-When KDE was being executed my bluetooth adapter was plugged 3-Right clicked->Settings->Bluetooth adapters and modify the default name (to 'kishore') 4-Tried to send a file from my mobile phone (an image file) to the desktop. But my phones din't recognise the desktop and said 'Sending failed' 5- I have attached the screenshots file. 6- I am not sure whether its a Nokia phone problem or a KDE bluetooth problem. All worked fine when i was using GNOME bluetooth with ubuntu (GNOME). But i am facing such problems with KDE. Any help to resolve this issue is appreciated. Many Thanks, kishore
Seems that I'm able to reproduce that using a Nokia 6630, I'll confirm and fix that annoying bug! Thanks for the report!
Hi I've fixed an issue related to receive files stuff, can anybody test this issue using the svn version? The code is in: svn co svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/playground/network/kbluetooth/ Thanks!
Hi Alex, I could lend a helping hand in testing this. But, I dont have the access to the code in svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/playground/network/kbluetooth/. Could you tell me how i could access this svn url. Is there anything extra i need to install in my Kubuntu 9.10 system? I would suppose the code has to be compiled. If you could tell me how to access this svn url and how i can compile the fixed version of the code, i could test it and provide feedback. Thanks, Kishore
