Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I copy one holiday format file with a different name, select it in the holiday region field in calendar settings and it seems it is going to be loaded, however the holidays disappear and when you go back to the holiday region field it has been changed to (None).

it was a matter of permissions of the file. Solved
