Description Will Stephenson 2009-11-02 22:22:57 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

As far as I can see the imported scheme replaces the existing scheme completely. This means that common windows shortcuts such as alt-tab stop working, since these are not defined in the win4 scheme.

Does this mean that the scheme is incomplete, or that in the past, importing the scheme added its shortcuts to the default scheme, which included alt-tab?

Originally reported downstream as https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551702

Keyboard becomes unusable if Windows Scheme (With Win Key) is active. Major
shortcuts doesn`t work (Alt+Space, Ctrl+Esc, Alt+Shift+Tab and etc.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open System Settings -> Global Keyboard shortcuts
2. Import "Windows Scheme (With Win Key)"
3. Apply
4. Try to use keyboard shortcuts.
Actual Results:
Major shortcuts doesn`t work (Alt+Space, Ctrl+Esc, Alt+Shift+Tab and etc.)

Expected Results:
I have to use SUSE w/o mouse properly.

I have the same issue, and whatever profile I try to import, almost all the shortcuts are removed.

My system is openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.3.1.

This bug breaks major functionality.
Unfortunately, KDE 4 becomes unusable again, until it will be fixed.
Comment 3 Sebastian Pereiro 2009-11-11 01:07:24 UTC
This bug needs to be renamed to the more general problem with the keyboard shortcuts schema import feature.
Comment 4 Tomasz Xyek 2009-11-11 01:11:03 UTC
I have the same problem with my KDE 4 experience.

SVN commit 1060085 by mjansen:

Fix kde4 porting error.

All now not working keys are missing from the scheme and have to be added.
