Description Michael Mair-Keimberger 2009-10-31 11:18:53 UTC
Version: 4.3.2 (using KDE 4.3.2)
Compiler: gcc 4.3.4
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I have a running windows-xp on my server (not natively installed, it runs in a kvm-session). I've access via vnc and rdp. Via rdp, everything works well. But via vnc i have a strange mouse behavior.
Actually im not sure how to describe, so i'll also upload a picture of my problem.
The problem is that the mouse in windows is never there where it should be. This is really annoying because, for example if i try to press the start button in windows, most of the time my mouse is already out of the window. I always have to "play" with the mouse to reach the button. Generally its with everything i do in windows with the mouse.
It seems it depends on which point i jump into the window. Also the mouse distance between the original mouse and the mouse in windows changes while i move the mouse in windows.

A picture taken with my camera (because a screenshot dosen't show the lokal mouse). The black point is the local mouse. In this case the distance isn't that big..

What VNC server are you using?
Is scaling enabled in KRDCß
Comment 4 Michael Mair-Keimberger 2009-11-01 20:23:16 UTC
vnc works via kvm. I don't have an vnc server. I start my kvm images with the options "-vnc" in kvm.

I'm not sure what do you mean with scaling. I think in the german version this option has another name ;)
Anyway, i already tried every option which is available, but nothing helped.

With scaling I mean the option in the session-menu, the one above "disconnect". In English the test is "Scale Remote Screen to Fit Window Size". I'm not sure how it is translated in German, but your could set KRDC to English in the help-menu.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. :) I already tried this option, but it didn't helped.

today, i've tried another vnc-client. i've tried tightvnc. I had the same issue with this vnc-client. looks like i shouldn't blame krdc for this problem. :)
Should i make an bug-report on the kvm-bugtracker (mabye with a link to this bug?)
i did a quichsearch at the bugtracker, but i didn't found a bug related to that.

Yeah, please report it to the KVM bugtracker. Thanks.
