Description Diego Ercolani 2009-10-30 13:43:01 UTC
Version: Versione 0.9.1 with KDE 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 183" (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

I don't have much experience with pdf forms but I found a kind of ducument bakered by Acrobat that doesn't be rendered correctly in okular.
There are 2 problems:

-------------- 1st problem ---------------
ghostscript think that the font used by the document contains ArialMT:
gs -sDEVICE=x11 EstrattoConto_1256901690391.pdf
GPL Ghostscript 8.62 (2008-02-29)

while acrobat reader 8 properties says more characters but not ArialMT (I'll include Acrobat properties screenshot) - immagine1.jpeg
The same for okular (see attached immagine2.jpeg)

--------------2nd problem (MORE IMPORTANT) ---------------------
The document contain a form that is compiled to create the pdf from java Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.
Okular shows that there are forms but doesn't show anithing but the page template.... (see immagine3.jpeg)
while acrobat shows correctly the form with prefilled fields.

The document is a "statement of account" for credit cards so it's a kind of document that is important to be readable....

Sorry for the "violation" of the attachement policy, but I can't make create a smaller pdf as I don't have the license but I have to ask for and I think this pdf should be a part of quality test bench

Erroneus pdf rendered by okular (showing forms)

the note is that this isn't an isolated issue:
ghostscript
kpdf from kde3
xpdf
gimp
are all showing that page... so it's a major issue

Comment 7 Pino Toscano 2009-10-30 14:40:29 UTC
Hi,

Okular does not load and render PDF documents by itself, but uses the Poppler
library for the job. So, please report the problem for Poppler at its bug
tracking system at https://bugs.freedesktop.org, "poppler" product.

Thanks.
