Version: 0.10.0-6.23 (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs After installing the OpenSuSE 11.2 RC1 with the included digikam application, I tried to convert a CR2 file into DNG with the DNG-Converter. Did just use the default settings. When the conversion told it finished, I had a look at the DNG file: it does not show any preview picture (instead a dummy placeholder) and when trying to get the full picture , a message tolds "preview cannot be shown...". Also the attempt to edit the DNG file results in the message "Error when loading the picture". But the metadata (EXIF, etc.) are displayed. When looking to the file it does only have a size of 214 kBytes where the CR2 file is 11 MBytes. The question is what is missing in my installation to get the picture displayed?
Which version of kipi-plugins you use. Anyway, this problem is solved with current implementation from svn trunk. Gilles Caulier
Thanks for the quick answer! The kipi-plugins version is 0.6-1.15 Can it be expected that the solution is already with the next OpenSuSE RC (11.2 RC2) available? Would be great! BTW: as it is the first time I contact you, I want to tell you, digikam is really a great and powerful product. Thanks for your work. Regards cfunghi
Thanks for the feedback 0.7.0 is officially released. We don't create RPM or DEB packages only source code tarball. Ask to your distro packager for that Gilles Caulier
Is there something left with this issue or can it be closed? Jens
cfunghi, Please checkout kipi-plugins from trunk where Jens as updated Adobe DNG sdk in DNG converter and please confirm that your problem is solved. For me i cannot reproduce your problem. CR2 images are converted and suitable as DNG. Gilles Caulier
cfunghi, Please check if this entry still valid using a recent digiKam and kipi-plugins version, else i will close this file as well... Gilles Caulier
Sorry for the delay of responding to your request. Did install the 1.5.0 version now (also with kipi plugins). The problem reported here in did no more occur. (But some other bad things happen... will open a new report) Thanks for working on this - digikam is really great!
